About Us
Julie Anne's All Natural Granola was founded in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2008. We are committed to making the most flavorful crunchy granola by using only the best all-natural ingredients. Inspiration for our addictively delicious and fun flavors comes from a variety of areas: nostalgic treats, such as a Creamsicle, American classics, such as maple-blueberry pancakes, and childhood comfort foods like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The perfect combination of crunchy clusters and tart dried fruit makes our granola ideal for sprinkling over yogurt, mixing into banana bread batter, or for snacking right out of the bag!
Julie Hession is the owner and founder of Julie Anne's. After an extensive search for "the perfect granola" left her empty-handed, she decided to create her own version. After much trial and error, she finally came up with a recipe that she couldn't stop eating (which is always a good sign!) A self-taught baker, she prides herself on food that is unique yet approachable, using only the best ingredients in her made-from-scratch creations.
After graduating from Duke's MBA program, Julie moved to Las Vegas, where she opened Julie Anne's, a gourmet specialty foods store. Inspired by regional stores such as Foster's Market and A Southern Season, Julie Anne's offered simple, elegant food and gourmet gifts in a comfortable atmosphere. They also sold Julie's Sweet Citrus Granola, which was an instant hit with her customers, who encouraged her to package it and create more flavors. After selling the Julie Anne's store, Julie decided to follow her customers' advice, and a few years later Sweet Citrus Granola earned a place on the shelves of Las Vegas Whole Foods Markets. Her Maple Blueberry, Tropical Bliss, and Berry Yummy PB&J flavors followed, all of which received rave reviews.
Julie's creations have been featured in People, O.K.!, and Food Network Magazine. In addition to making granola, she enjoys competitive cooking as a hobby. In 2008, she competed on an episode of Food Network's Ultimate Recipe Showdown, where her Double Chocolate Malt Shop Cupcakes took home the $25,000 grand prize. She was also the first runner-up in the 2009 Sutter Home Build a Better Burger cook-off. Julie's writing and recipes have been featured in Everyday with Rachael Ray, Nevada, Via, Hannaford Fresh, Taste of Home, and Relish magazines. She also publishes a food and recipe blog, Peanut Butter and Julie.
For the record, Julie's favorite flavor of her granola is the Sweet Citrus.......for this week anyhow.
